This year promises to be full of change and challenge, I'm very excited about it. Kyle and I know it will have many rough spots, but it's hard to not be optimistic when we're starting it off in England finally, I can't express how much I love it here.
In an effort to get us off to a good start we have decided to commit to cycling everyday this month. Yes, WE have decided- Kyle is joining me. This might be a bit of a challenge as I have to go to London to pick up my Mum from Heathrow on the 16th, but I'm just going to take it one day at a time. I thought last April would be impossible and it turned out to be easy peasy! Of course we may encounter some less than perfect weather too, but so far this winter it has been very mild.

Sitting here listening to Adele, drinking a cuppa tea, I am in awe of how far we have made it in this last year and find myself very optimistic that 2013 is going to be a great year, but that might just be the bike ride talking.

I am so proud of the accomplishments that have achieved this year. I can't wait to see what wonderful adventures 2013 will bring! <3
ReplyDeleteCorbi- Thank you for always being one of the loudest people in my cheering squad, I wouldn't have made it through without your help. <3 you always, Lindsay

ReplyDeleteThank you Lavinka, Happy new Year to you too!
DeleteGood for you! And thanks for taking us along for the ride! It's currently 1 degree F in Iowa right now so my bike is definitely not getting pulled out of the garage today. It's nice to read about your bicycle adventures instead, since I won't be having many of my own until it warms up a bit.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!

S- brr that is cold! we have had very mild days, even some sunny ones. its funny because Brits are so apologetic to us about the weather and we are used to much worse in Washington State.
DeleteHappy New Year to you and yours! lindsay
You were my inspiration to get out and ride last April. I had purchased a bike on July 30, 2012, I would ride it, with no goal in mind, only 100 miles on it when I started reading your blog in late March and so I made a commitment to ride 600 miles from April to Dec. 31,2012. I did it, at times I about gave up ( busy with 2 kids and caring for my 92 yr old dad (so riding had to be completed before his daily arrival at 11 am) I didn't ride daily and my most my rides were betweeen 3-6 miles. Days before Christmas I noticed I still had 29 miles to ride, I rode but not much, I finally completed the last 19 miles on New Years eve at noon :) total miles to date 700.7 YOU were on my mind the last 19 miles as I watched the odom. slowing count upward! Looking forward to more miles this year.. THANK YOU for your blog and inspiring me to ride! ~ j
ReplyDeleteWOW J- what a lovely comment! Thank you so much! it feels so good to know I can give back to the community too! Congrats on some amazing distance, I would love to ride those numbers, maybe one day. the great thing about blogging is it keeps me motivated too. hugs! happy new year! Lindsay
DeleteI totally agree that it is not possible to get off your bike and not be happier than when you got on it. Now that its cold here, I am devising new strategms for winter riding. How bout you?
