Only 11 days left until I can pick up my bike. I have marked the days on the calender like it's Xmas all over again, and to be honest I'm more excited than a kid on Christmas Eve.
Nothing in life has power over you, you give it the power, be it
negative or positive. I have decided to give my bike the power to
change my life, it may be just a lump of metal with rubber on it's
wheels but it can take me places an odometer can't measure.
I'm having the same issues waiting for my front basket for my Yuba! I'm really excited!
ReplyDeleteRick- I'm really glad it's not just me! LOL I really like those front baskets, definitely want on eventually!
ReplyDeleteLindsay, I am also waiting for my Mundo. The accessories I ordered at the same time came today. Through some confusion, I was thinking it would be the bike... So still waiting. If it seems too hard at first, seek support from online folks. Bike forums is a great place. The utility biking section can answer any Mundo questions, and the Clydesdale/athena section is great for those looking to shed pounds through bicycling.
ReplyDeleteHey Kevbo- I have noticed that cyclist's seem very supportive of each other and have a community within the community, which is really nice. In Portland Or. where I used to live until 2 years ago the biking community is huge and seem to for them most part help each other...although there are always a few rotten apples right? I will check out bike forums for sure, as I'm going to need support...lots!
ReplyDeleteMy bike is sitting at the bike shop which is what makes the wait harder haha...I just don't have the money to get it yet so I'm counting the days. I never thought so many people would be in the same waiting period, but hey I have a feeling it'll be well worth it. That bike was seriously the most comfortable bike I've ever ridden. I felt like a kid for the 5 minute test ride with a grin from ear to ear.
I hope you have a great time with your bike, Lindsay. It's coming on three years for me and my Mundo v1, and I love, love, love it, as do our kids. While I've easily lived car-free in the past, as a parent of two I'm sadly nowhere near car-free (yet!). I'm ranging from 50-70% trips by bike (mornings are our achilles heel). I really look forward to reading your blog.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Max
Hey Max-
ReplyDeletethanks for your comment and for reading my blog. It amazes me how many people have told me of their love of the Mundo, it's like a little family. I really look forward to coming up with a name for mine :)
Can you imagine if everyone did 50-70% of their trips by bike? I'm kind of diving in the deep end for sure, but I knew unless I did it this way, for me it just wouldn't happen. Wish me luck!
Thanks again- Lindsay
P.S. cant get this to post readable when I post as a reply...odd
Ah, yes the naming... For mine, with the two Go-Getter bags and two diy seats on the back it was obvious that it had to be, "Gluteus".
ReplyDeleteNice haha. I'm waiting to see:)
DeleteWe happened to luck out and find a bakfiets on Craigslist so that's what our cargo bike is. I'd love to get one of these when my kiddos are older and can either tag-along or be trusted to hold on. Have you seen @familyride on twitter? She's in Seattle and just had a long wait to get her dream bike. I thought you might enjoy reading her stuff. Happy pedaling!
ReplyDeleteVery lucky indeed to find on on Craigslist! I keep looking out of habit more than anything. I have seen familyride and really like that blog. I'm really loving the supportive community within cargo bikes and bikes in general. Thank you for your comment! Lindsay
DeleteGreat choice of ride for your adventure Lyndsay. A sound investment.
ReplyDeleteGerry :)
Thanks Gerry, now less than 4 days until I bring it home, I don't think I've been this excited about anything since I had my baby haha! Lindsay
